Simone our Guest Speaker. She spoke about The Sanctuary for Women, Children & Pets which is a safe haven for women and children escaping domestic violence.

Every 3 minutes someone in Australia calls police about Domestic Violence.

It is sad to think that more than one women’s life is lost to domestic violence every day in Australia. So what happens to the kids?

The Sanctuary logo

Did you know that more than over 3,000 people are living on the streets of the Gold Coast and Brisbane? Many are women and children who are victims of domestic violence. They have no place to go, nowhere safe to sleep and no support to help them to rebuild their lives.

Domestic violence has no class barriers. Women suffering from Domestic Violence range from Tertiary educated to early school leavers. The emotional traumas are the same for all victims of Domestic Violence….

About the Kelly the ShowNed Kelly

Come and enjoy Kelly the Show. About the Australian Legend Ned Kelly and the gripping tale of masculinity, brotherhood and the dangerous dynamic of mateship.

Ned Kelly is about to hang for his crimes. But at his final hour, his brother Dan arrives,

disguised as a priest. Supposedly killed at the Siege of Glenrowan, Dan is intent on moving north to Qld and forgetting his past. He needs Ned’s blessing and forgiveness,  but the last time they met, Dan tried to shoot Ned dead.  So begins a brutal  confrontation, facing the sins of their past, each blames the other for their downfall and neither will escape unharmed.

Dramatically entwining fact, theory and myth, Kelly is a smartly written, complex and gripping tale of masculinity, brotherhood and the dangerous dynamic of mateship..

“Kelly is a beautifully conceived  drama .. Ryan’s stupefyingly good script is poignant and to-the point … Kelly is a  smart imagining of Ned Kelly’s last night alive, charged with unfulfilled potential and torturous regret  and deeply moving to the bitter end“
